Explanation: The atmosphere

Introduction

Earth. It is made up of the spheres we call the geosphere, biosphere, atmosphere and hydrosphere. Each sphere has it's own important role, making the earth a habitable place. In this explanation, I am going to talk about the atmosphere.  The atmosphere is a blanket of gas which surrounds the earth, without the atmosphere, the biosphere wouldn’t be able to live. The atmosphere keeps the temperature on earth moderate. The atmosphere is important.

What are the layers of the Atmosphere? 

The layers of the atmosphere are the Troposphere, Stratosphere,  Mesosphere, Thermosphere, Ionosphere and Exosphere.

First the troposphere, the troposphere is the lowest layer of the earth’s atmosphere, it contains 99% of earth’ water vapour. The word Tropo means “ turn, toward, change” reflecting that water and air moving in a circle plays an important role in the troposphere’s behaviour, and sphere meaning the earth.

Secondly the Stratosphere, it is the second layer in the atmosphere after the troposphere. The stratosphere absorbs the UV rays because the Ozone layer is in the stratosphere. The winds in the Stratosphere can far exceed the winds in the troposphere reaching nearly 220km per hour.

Halfway through is the mesosphere, the word mesos means middle making it the middle sphere. The mesosphere is the coldest layer with temperatures up to -143°C  also this is the layer which meteors start to burn up.

Coming close to the end is the Thermosphere. Applying the fact that it has Thermo in its name it is the hottest layer Temperatures ascending up to 1’700°C or more. This layer is also where UV radiation causes photoionization. Some people think that the thermosphere is apart of space because the air density is so low. Even though the ozone layer protects us from the sun, the oxygen and the nitrogen are bombarded by radiation and energetic particles from the sun, causing molecules to split into atoms creating heat.

Last but not least combining the two layers is the Ionosphere and the Exosphere. Firstly the ionosphere wouldn’t exist if it were not for the sun’s UV rays. The ionosphere is a shell of electrons and electrically charged atoms and molecules that surround the earth. The purpose of the Ionosphere is that it influences radio propagation to distant places on earth. Finally the exosphere, it’s basically outer space, no one can survive in the exosphere unless you have an air canister from the troposphere. This is the layer where satellites orbit the earth and take cool pictures!

In conclusion, the atmosphere is a bunch of layers surrounding earth so you can live and breath. Without it, the biosphere wouldn’t be able to live and I wouldn’t be writing this explanation to inform you about it.

Volcano description

The titanium white lightning, which are veins in a human body, crackles like vegetables on a barbeque. It is a weaver ant colony dominantly expanding their presence throughout the forest. In the middle of nowhere black paint swiftly ushers down the burnt sienna clay mould while the “creation” violently spews out molten rocks, SpLaT sPLat! Ash in the air builds up, the aroma smells like a burnt Cuban cigar. Eventually, the vicious volcano dies down, life barely alive. The dense air diminishes and in the middle of nowhere without a sound, the eruption comes to an end…  

Muse

 As careless as someone guessing their maths test, the athletes ran in the muddy field with no hesitation. Their abstract trainers squelching with every footstep. Although the parents on the sideline are watching, their feet are also drenched in mud by the rain on previous days. Parents, joyfully cheering the kids, stood around the barrier like a cheetah stalking their prey. Rundown, pear shaded, the building stood in a stationary position watching over the sweaty runners. Leisurely swaying side to side,  the highest tree looks into the atmosphere of tranquillity. It's brothers below it are almost symmetrical, their autumnal leaves fall off gracefully as the clouds cover the horizon and the day comes to an end.

Title: The day a man lost his ticket

It was high noon, the sun shone like a candle in an abandoned home. This was in a town called Seren there weren't many people nor any cars passing by. Ding-Ding, ding ding the dairy shops sensor echoed around the shop as a man named Peter walked in,

“What would you like?” The woman at the cashier asked

“ I would do myself a lottery ticket thank you,” Peter replied. Peter is unlucky, he doesn't get what he needs and he is living off benefit. Winning the lottery would be a huge milestone for him.   

Scrape, scrape “ Please just one more five, YES I won the lottery I need to go to turn this in right now!” Peter was so dumbfounded he was left for words. Thump OOF!  Peter was a hay bale which tumbled onto the soft, lush grass. YawN.  When Peter woke up unconscious he started frantically searching his clothes for the missing lotto ticket but he had no luck. The dairy owner saw the man and she asked about the situation, Peter told her and she also started looking for the missing lotto ticket. Unfortunately, the woman also had no luck finding it until…  

A mysterious man in a dull, black hoodie approached them and asked in a polite way,

“ Is this yours?” Peter’s smile was so high it nearly reached Mt Everest, he gladly accepted it from the man. The mysterious man strutted along the sidewalk like geese on the grass. Peter turned the ticket in. If those people wouldn't have helped him he would have never won the lottery.

The clouds and sun scrambled away as Peter strolled back to his motel. He hopped on his Kings single bed and daydreamed “ I wonder what would have happened if those people were not there.” Fate was on Peter’s side today and he continued to live a happy life without worries.

Do you know what a bank is? If you don't I will be telling what a bank is. For basics a bank is a physical ATM, you lend coins to the teller ( a person who gives and takes your money) and they lend you notes. Banks have been around for thousands of years. When you deposit money into the bank, they keep it in a special place called a vault. 

What is a bank account? A bank account is a safe place to store your money and yes YOU can make money by going to the bank and opening an account. For instance, you deposit $10 to the bank and they will give it to someone so they can use it. After they have used it they need to pay something called interest, you need to pay interest if you have borrowed money from someone. Let's say they pay 7% interest the bank will get 5% of that and you will get 2% of that, that's how you and the bank earn a profit. 

How to open a bank account? If you're a kid and you want to open a bank account you should start opening a KiwiSaver account. If you don't know what a KiwiSaver account is it is like a bank account but you don't need to have a job, you only need to be living in NZ. For adults, there are many banks in New Zealand to open a bank account to for example ANZ, BNZ, ASB and many more. You should open a bank account because it is an easy and safe place to store your money, when you open a bank account you will get a credit and debit card. A debit card is where you store your personal money that you have earned and a credit card is a card which stores the bank's money, if you use it then you have to pay the money back to the bank at some point.

“This is so exciting, I'm finally getting a pet” I whispered under my breath while sitting in the car slowly progressing to the pet shop. I asked my mum what pet she wants, “ I want a golden retriever because they are loyal and fluffy” replied mum promptly. Normally everybody would want a cat or a dog like mum but I want something exotic like a kitsune or an emperor penguin.  

The half an hour drive was finally over. I moaned with my head looking at the roof of the car “ At last I can get an exotic pet from Animates.” I infiltrated the shop with excitement like the Germans invading Poland in WW2. As soon as I saw the pets my excitement ran away from me, I was disappointed there were no penguins nor foxes, not even any sloths! I was about to leave the store when my mum came up to me and persuaded me that even though there are no exotic pets there must be something you like. Out of sympathy, I decided to get Shiba Inu.

After we got home I carefully, gently opened the cage where my pet was tucked away in a confinement. Although my pet was shy, I could tell he was very excited to meet his new owner.  Later that same evening I brought him to my mum so we could name him, after letting him get used to me. Mum thought of names like Jasper, Zeus and Dante, while I thought of names like Ottie, Archie and Trent. We decided to name the pet Zeus because it had a good ring to it and it sounded very tough. 

IT was a new page in a book and today I was going to my friend Tommy’s house. Everybody in school said he was the type of guy who had lots of pets, that's why I was going to his house to check them out. When I entered the house he had so many pets around him, even a kitsune! “ Why do you have so many pets?” I asked in surprisement, he replied with “ I like collecting animals, it's fun.” 

“ Can I trade my Shiba Inu Zeus for your kitsune?” I pleaded with high hopes 

“ Sure I don't have a Shiba Inu in my collection yet so you can have my kitsune Ember.” He replied with no guilt on his face.  Ecstatic I skipped home with glee not knowing how furious my mum was going to be…

Introduction  

Aliens. Do they exist? Why would they come here? How will humans react if they come here? This speech is about why we should prepare for an alien invasion. 

MAIN PARAGRAPH 1  

My first main point is, are there aliens. This speech would be useless if there wasn’t any proof for aliens but there is, so here is my evidence. Firstly there have been multiple UFO (unidentified flying objects) sightings around the world, let me give you an example. The US Air Force dispatched a fighter pilot to examine a UFO sighting over Fort Knox, Kentucky; his aircraft crashed and the pilot was killed while pursuing the UFO. Along with mysterious High radio bursts of sounds happening in space, between September and October 2019. Canadian researchers have noticed a pattern every fortnight. Altogether I have told you some evidence for alien life in the universe and I hope you believe me.   

MAIN PARAGRAPH 2

My second main point is what people will do if aliens come to earth. Some scientists say if aliens decide to explore earth, it's been said contact will happen by a signal purposely sent. Besides, everybody will be freaked out by the aliens exploring earth, yet you should stay calm because apparently, they will not harm us. Lastly for this paragraph, we could make a bond between human and extraterrestrial life. Both civilisations can continue to evolve and hopefully find new life.  

MAIN PARAGRAPH 3     

Finally, my last main paragraph is how we should prepare for aliens coming to earth. If aliens do come to earth, you should try not to start a war because imagine the amount of technology that the aliens would have if they came here. They would have developed past war. Despite the chances being low, think about it. There is a vast universe expanding every day, why would there be such a big universe and one isolated civilisation.    

Conclusion  

Now that you have heard all of my main points I hope that I have convinced you to prepare for an alien invasion RIGHT NOW.  If aliens do come to earth remember this speech. “I believe alien life is quite common in the universe, although intelligent life is less so. Some say it has yet to appear on planet Earth.”

The time I nearly got stung by a stingray 

In 2016 when I was six years old my family friends and my family decided we were going to Goat Island. I was exuberant that I could spend time with my family and friends, but fate had set an obstacle for me that I didn’t know about. 

The trip to Goat island was lingering like a shadow in the daytime.  However, the lush foliage and nature around us were breath-taking. There were crickets chirping all around us like we were in a 360 Dolby Atmos theatre and the sun was a satellite image of las vegas at night.   By the time we got there the place was crowded like times square in New York.

After I got changed into my togs, I was brave enough to go in the water.  I slowly progressed into the water because it was freezing like the Alps in south-central Europe. When I finally warmed up in the water there were lots of people splashing so I couldn’t hear anything. Apparently, my family were calling out to me because there was a siren… 

I started to panic, there were people petrified but my soul went out of my body I was just standing still hands numb, feet trembling like a building about to collapse and my mind blank. Finally, my family friend saw me and he called out “Arhan stingray.” My mind decided to switch on again. I saw the stingrays tail, shaken I sprinted out of the water like I was in the Berlin Olympics running for first place. Before the stingray stung me, I luckily escaped this tragedy and a sigh of relief spread across my face. 

As I was walking back to the car my friend’s dad said I was very lucky to have dodged the attack of the stingray and so was I. Next time a siren goes of on a beach or anywhere I will make sure to immediately get out of the area because I do not want to get into a situation like this again.

My Invention My invention is a toy that you can play by yourself or with your friend. I made this toy because if you’re bored at home you can go outside and play with this marvellous, magnetic ball. What my toy is My toy is a magnetic glove and ball. You should rush online and buy this toy because you can use it to your amusement indoors and outdoors, when you use this invention indoors make sure to use it as a handball so your parents won’t get mad. My toy can benefit you because it teaches you how to catch properly and its good exercise but the only bad thing about this toy is that you might get tired after you throw it a few times. But if your interested in this toy it’s only going to cost you 5 dollars, what a cheap deal! How my toy works  This game that I invented is pretty straight forward to use, you throw the magnetic ball in the air and you catch it. Pretty dull right.  When you put on the magic, magnetic glove on it becomes way more fun because The ball is attracted to the magic glove so when you throw the ball up with your hand you should stand still and the ball will surprisingly land on your hand because of the magnet. You still need to catch it otherwise it will fall. You can also use it as a handball on a wall. Since this toy is so entertaining you won’t get bored of it. I hope this toy has interested you in buying it. So what are you waiting for proceed to go online and purchase this toy and cure your boredom in the future whenever you need to stay at home!  (It’s just a story, of course, don't actually go and look for this toy online because it’s not real)

A pencil sharpener is a pretty obvious tool because it says it in its name, in case you don't know what it is it’s a small contraption used to sharpen a pencil.

When to use a pencil sharpener

A scenario to use a pencil sharpener is when your drawing and your pencil snaps because you accidentally pressed it too hard but... You have a pencil sharpener so you can sharpen your pencil. Other scenarios are when the tip of your pencil goes blunt or you need to make sure your pencil is extra sharp so it doesn’t crack in a test.

Different parts of a pencil sharpener and what there used for 

There are different parts of a pencil sharpener the housing, mouth, blade and cylindric gears. The housing is the base of the sharpener it’s the part that holds all the pieces together so it doesn’t fall apart, the mouth is the hole in the sharpener which is used to insert the pencil so it’s ready to be sharpened. Next is the blade it is the part where the pencil is going to be sharpened this part is very important because without this part the pencil won’t be sharp and the final part of the pencil sharpener is the cylindric gears when the pencil is getting sharpened by the blade the cylindric gears make the pencil turn around in a cylindric shape so it doesn’t sharpen only once side making a pointy tip.

Who knew such a small contraption, the pencil sharpener, could be so complicated when you look into it with detail. My music description

The music made me feel like I was slowly creeping out of bed to get some food in the night and when the music speeds up it makes me feel like a have to go in bed before anyone catches me. There is a song called the pi song and it goes on this beat so it reminds me of that. Halfway through the song the guitar suddenly changes into a higher pitch because the song is starting to go faster and three-quarters of the way through the song it makes your heart go faster and make you have like a burst of energy. The music is like a bull slowly speeding up every second and hastily charging at another bull. The music is a test hot air balloon filling up with hot air until it explodes. Can you guess what type of music I’m talking about?

Character description

The pufferfish is a bizarre-looking sea creature, it has a rough texture but don’t let it fool you because when it inflates it turns into a spiky ball. The spikes on a pufferfish are so venomous that when predators eat the pufferfish the deadly poison in their body kills them right after. When a pufferfish is threatened like when a predator comes close it expands itself and sometimes when it does that the predator thinks its too big for it to eat so it goes away. There are many species of pufferfish over 120! They live mostly in warm bodies of water but some species live in colder parts of water. A pufferfish moves slowly, some pufferfish are 1 inch long and some are 1 foot! Pufferfish is a delicacy in Japan, the people who prepare pufferfish  (fugu in Japan) are trained for 3 years before they get a fugu license to prepare and serve fugu.

I Am PORKCHOP

Cock-a-doodle-doo the rooster crowed at the break of dawn, everybody in the barn woke up even farmer Mcdonald everyone except Porkchop he was a lazy pig with three zzz he was the laziest animal in the barn. He always woke up at midday and he always ate even if he wasn’t even hungry ( which made him very fat ). 

Let’s talk about Porkchops history, Porkchop’s dad (name unknown) was a martial arts master. He was the protector of the barn from the wolfs who tried to eat up the sheep and other hostile creatures. Porkchop always dreamt of being like his dad but one unfortunate night instead of one wolf who were trying to eat the sheep there were five!!! Porkchop’s dad got eaten up by the pack leader and worst of all porkchop was watching because he wanted to see his dad beat up the wolfs.

Now ever since that incident happened he has been sitting on hay bales and eating and eating and eating, you might be wondering where his mother is well when she gave birth to Porkchop she didn't like him so she decided to leave the barn and find another home but let’s not worry about her. Porkchop got his name because as I said his dad was a martial arts master and Porkchop is a pig soooo Porkchop    

Its been 3 years since his dad died and all the animals felt bad for Porkchop so they decided to do something… They were planning to build a home gym for porkchop by using haystacks as dumbells, a wooden plank as a treadmill, the pole on a horse stall as a punching bag and hay as gloves. The animals in the barn were proud of their creation so first, they asked farmer Mcdonald he thought it was a brilliant idea. Finally, they were ready to tell Porkchop.  

As usual, Porkchop was sitting on the hay bale and eating, Cow and Rooster tapped him on the back he didn't move so the sheepdog came and he barked so loud that a boulder split in half but porkchop didn’t nudge so they decided to call farmer Mcdonald to see what he can do. Farmer Mcdonald got a megaphone and he screamed till his lungs started coming out of his body, Porkchop finally stood up and moaned “ what do you want?” The animals explained to him how they felt sorry for him and wanted him to start doing some exercise, a miracle happened that day he stood up straight and agreed to do 1 hour of exercise every day. 

Its was the first day of exercise and Porkchop is a bit hesitant but still pushes through. After a few days of doing exercise, he has lost all his blubber and he is ready to start doing a hard workout, he is in great shape and his posture is way better Porkchop also likes doing his workout. Finally, for the last stage of his workout martial arts, the type of martial art he is going to learn is karate but who is going the teach him karate? The pig, cow, dog or horse? None of them, he was going to ask farmer Mcdonald if he could use his TV to look at some karate and follow along, Mcdonald let him use his TV for this period of time. 

Porkchop completed his karate in about a month, now he is in super shape just like his dad used to be. Everybody in the barn was proud of porkchop and now he was ready to fight some bad wolfs. In the middle of the night, he found a wolf and challenged him to a battle, Porkchop was so confident he put one hand behind his back and started fighting and he beat the wolf in just one minute.  

Porkchop became the new protector of the barn and no wolf or any creature dared to step foot into the barn.
